You can request permanent deletion of your Waverly account and associated data. Waverly is operated by Wavrly Social LLC. This page explains the request process, what is removed, what may be retained, and how to contact us without access to the app.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. A deletion request is also different from cancelling a store subscription. See the purchase guidance below before you proceed.
Request deletion in the app
- Sign in to the account you want to delete and open its account settings. Choose Delete Account.
- Verify ownership using your current sign-in method when prompted. Password accounts verify through the app; supported sign-in providers use their own verification flow. Do not email a password or code to us.
- Read the permanent-deletion explanation. Type DELETE exactly and confirm permanent deletion.
- After the request is accepted, the app signs you out and clears account-related local app state. If an error appears instead of acceptance, retry or contact support so we can help establish the request's status.
The exact placement of the account-settings control may vary by app version. If you cannot find it or cannot sign in, use the web request route below. Do not create another account to request deletion of the original one.
Request deletion without the app
Use the deletion request form on this page, when it is enabled, or email waverlysocialapp@gmail.com with Account deletion request in the subject. Include the email associated with your account and your username if known. State that you want permanent account deletion. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, payment details, or identity documents.
For a web request, follow the instructions shown by the form and any ownership-confirmation message it sends. Merely submitting a form or opening a confirmation link does not itself erase an account. A confirmation screen may ask you to explicitly confirm before processing. If the online form is unavailable, use the email option; an unavailable form is not a successful request.
For an account matched by our staff, ownership confirmation is sent to the email currently associated with that account's authentication record. After you explicitly confirm, authorized staff can initiate the existing account-deletion process. The public form and confirmation page do not bypass account ownership or legal-hold checks.
We need to verify that the requester is entitled to act for the account. Receiving a request at an email address you provide does not by itself establish ownership. We may ask you to use the account's verified email, complete an existing sign-in verification, or follow another proportionate recovery process. We will not require public disclosure of your identity or ask for your password. If you cannot use the original email, explain that in your message without including additional sensitive information.
Some cases require follow-up, such as a company account for which you are the only owner, an unresolved ownership dispute, or information subject to legal preservation. We will explain the relevant step we can disclose. If you are the sole company owner, transfer ownership or add another owner where possible; contact us if this is not possible. These procedures do not remove any applicable privacy rights.
What happens after acceptance
Accepted permanent deletion moves the account into deletion processing. Normal account use is disabled, public identity and discoverability are reduced, and Nearby location records are removed. Authenticated access is shut down and account activity is restricted while deletion is pending.
There is a 30-day retention period before the purge begins. The purge runs in stages and may take additional time to finish. This is not a promise that every record is erased within 30 days, and it is not a grace period for changing your mind. Once accepted, the permanent-deletion request cannot be cancelled through the product. Logging back in does not restore the account.
A legal hold can delay deletion of affected information. Processing failures may require retries or investigation. Contact support if you need to ask about a request; do not infer that an account has been restored because a background deletion step is still pending.
Information removed from ordinary product use
The account purge is intended to remove the account's authentication record and profile, its posts and associated Nearby/feed records, uploaded user/profile media, follows and Waves, block and hidden-post preferences, account-specific settings and entitlements, and account-linked ad delivery and frequency records. Related counters or records belonging to other accounts may be updated so they remain accurate.
Account-device links are removed. Remaining operational or safety records are deleted or minimized according to their purpose, rather than left as an active public profile. A minimized completion receipt can remain so we have evidence that deletion ran. Deleting an entitlement record is separate from cancelling an app-store payment arrangement.
If content or records are shared with a company or community, deletion does not necessarily erase that organization or everyone else's content. We remove or minimize your personal connection as appropriate and preserve legitimate records necessary to operate the remaining organization or address legal obligations. Contact us if you need to identify particular information for review.
Information that may remain
- Safety and enforcement evidence: limited reports, moderation actions, restrictions, and security records needed to investigate abuse, prevent repeat harm, address appeals, or meet legal obligations. Direct identity fields are removed or minimized where appropriate; pseudonymous records are not necessarily anonymous.
- Legal holds and required records: information that must be preserved for a lawful request, investigation, dispute, or other legal obligation. Access remains restricted to the continuing purpose.
- Commercial and purchase records: records that an app store, payment provider, or Waverly must retain for transactions, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance if purchasing is available. Store-held records are subject to the store's own role and obligations.
- Backups and provider copies: copies that follow separate backup, security, or provider retention cycles. They are not a way to restore a deleted account for ordinary use. We may need time to remove or let such copies expire.
- Non-user-linked information: aggregate campaign statistics, minimized audit history, and records that no longer identify you. We do not describe all hashed identifiers as anonymous.
- Other people's independent copies: screenshots, downloaded material, externally shared links or copies, and records kept by independent services that we do not control.
We retain information only while a continuing lawful purpose applies. The relevant duration differs by record type and legal obligation. The Privacy Policy describes retention principles and rights requests. Contact us if you want an explanation of a specific retained category; disclosure may be limited when needed to protect another person or an investigation.
The request itself has a separate lifecycle from your account. In the website support system, an ordinary deletion, privacy, or support case is scheduled for removal 180 days after closure. Safety, intimate-image, copyright, and appeal cases use 365 days after closure. Open cases remain while the request is being handled, and documented legal holds can pause cleanup. These periods do not mean your deleted public profile remains active, and they do not automatically delete independent email copies.
Delete particular data or request a copy
You can use available profile and content controls to edit or remove particular information. You can also contact support and select a privacy request to ask for deletion of particular data, correction, or access to a copy without asking to delete the entire account. Describe the information and the outcome you want.
We will verify requests where needed and explain if removing essential information would make a feature or account unavailable. We do not currently promise a self-service downloadable archive. If you need a copy, request it before confirming permanent account deletion because access to deleted information may not be recoverable. You may still exercise rights provided by applicable law.
Unfinished registration
If you created sign-in credentials but did not finish account setup, contact Support for help recovering or discarding that registration. Where the app offers Discard unfinished registration, confirm that action and sign in again if requested. A confirmation that cleanup was requested is not confirmation that all processing has finished. Do not create another account just because a username was unavailable; you can choose another username while continuing the same setup.
New registrations covered by the recovery flow become eligible for cleanup after seven days without completed setup. Cleanup may take additional time and requires review if an account has product activity, ownership, safety restrictions, a legal hold or an unsupported sign-in provider. This process is separate from the 30-day retention period for deleting a completed account. Limited cleanup records and security evidence can remain as described in our Privacy Policy. If you already completed your profile, use the account-deletion request described above.
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid products are planned and may not yet be available. If you have an active store-managed subscription, check it separately before deleting your account. Account deletion or uninstalling the app may not cancel recurring billing through the store.
Use Apple's subscription controls or Google Play's subscription controls for the store where you purchased. Ask the store or support about refunds and any remaining access. Account deletion does not waive mandatory consumer rights and does not erase transaction records a store is legally required to retain.
Contact and follow-up
Contact Wavrly Social LLC, 109 Cayman Ct, Brunswick, GA 31525, USA, at waverlysocialapp@gmail.com, or use the request form below. Include an existing request reference if you have one. We do not promise a fixed response time on this page; legally required deadlines still apply to qualifying rights requests. You can request review of a denied privacy request through Support.
Send your request by email
Online request forms are not enabled. Email waverlysocialapp@gmail.com. You do not need a Waverly account to contact us.
Include your request, a way to reach you, and relevant Waverly usernames or post links. Do not send passwords, identification documents, or sexual images of minors.
Use the email associated with your account if possible. Ownership must be verified before an account can be deleted. Sending an email does not itself delete an account.
