Community Guidelines

The rules for participating in Waverly and reporting harmful behavior.

Updated Version 2026-10-17-v1

Waverly is a place for adults to connect, share, and participate without threatening other people's safety or dignity. These guidelines explain the conduct we allow and how to report a concern. They apply to accounts, usernames, photos, posts, links, interactions, communities, company pages, ads, and communications with our team. They also apply to altered or AI-generated material.

Waverly is operated by Wavrly Social LLC. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. You must be 18 or older to use an account. An adults-only service is not permission to post pornography or exploit others.

Protect children

Child sexual abuse and exploitation are prohibited. Do not create, upload, request, trade, link to, promote, or threaten to distribute sexual or exploitative material involving a person under 18. This includes generated, illustrated, altered, and seemingly self-produced material. Grooming, sexual solicitation, sextortion, trafficking, and sexualized comments about children are prohibited.

Do not expose a child's private identifying information or share abusive imagery to raise awareness, shame an offender, or make a joke. Report concerns without redistributing the material. Our Child Safety Standards explain the prohibited conduct, reporting routes, and response process. Accounts belonging to people under 18 are ineligible for Waverly.

Do not threaten or promote violence

Do not make credible threats, encourage someone to injure another person, coordinate violence, stalk people, or publish information to facilitate an attack. Do not recruit for or materially support terrorism, violent extremist activity, trafficking, or other violent criminal conduct.

Do not post gratuitous gore, celebratory depictions of severe injury, or material intended to intimidate or shock through real-world abuse. Discussion, criticism, or reporting about violence may be allowed when it does not promote harm, reveal private victim information, or include prohibited imagery. Context matters, but a claimed educational purpose does not automatically make harmful material acceptable.

Respect people and their privacy

Do not target someone with harassment, repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, degrading sexual comments, or coordinated abuse. Do not encourage others to attack a person. Criticism of ideas, public decisions, or conduct is allowed; threats and targeted abuse are not.

Do not promote violence, dehumanization, exclusion, or hateful attacks against people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or other legally protected characteristics. Quoting hateful material to discuss or challenge it does not permit directing that abuse at another person.

Do not publish or threaten to publish another person's home address, private phone number, financial information, identification documents, private communications, or real-time location without a legitimate basis and permission where required. Information being discoverable somewhere else does not automatically make sharing it here appropriate. Do not use Nearby, search, or social features to track or intimidate someone.

No sexually explicit or nonconsensual intimate content

Do not post pornography, explicit sexual activity, sexually explicit imagery, sexual solicitation, or material primarily intended for sexual gratification. This restriction applies even when the people involved are adults and consent to the material. It also applies to synthetic or altered depictions.

Never share, request, or threaten to share intimate imagery without the depicted person's consent. Consent to create an image or share it privately is not consent to publish it. Sexual deepfakes, voyeuristic material, coercion, and extortion are prohibited. Do not use sexual content to harass or impersonate someone.

Non-graphic discussion of sexual health, abuse prevention, recovery, or personal experience may be allowed when it does not sexualize a person, identify a victim without permission, or contain prohibited imagery. Report intimate-image abuse through Support using the intimate-image category. You do not need to repost or attach the imagery to ask for help.

Do not encourage self-harm or dangerous abuse

Do not encourage suicide, self-injury, eating-disorder behavior, substance abuse, or dangerous acts likely to cause serious harm. Do not pressure another person to harm themselves or provide targeted instructions that facilitate harm. Do not depict or promote animal cruelty.

People may talk about difficult experiences, seek support, and share recovery stories without graphic depictions or encouragement of harm. Waverly is not an emergency or medical service. If a person is in immediate danger in the United States, contact 911 or appropriate local emergency services.

Be honest about who you are and what you offer

Do not impersonate another person, company, public official, or Waverly staff member. A parody, commentary, or fan account must make its nature clear and must not deceive people about its identity or affiliation. Do not fabricate verification, badges, purchase status, or official endorsements.

Do not run scams, phishing schemes, fraudulent fundraisers, deceptive promotions, or coordinated manipulation. Do not sell or request stolen information or facilitate illegal transactions. Do not use the service to arrange exploitation, illegal weapons transactions, or unlawful sales of controlled substances.

Do not make deceptive claims about material you created or altered when the deception could cause harm. AI-generated material follows the same safety, intellectual-property, and authenticity rules as other content. There is no AI exception to rules against fraud, impersonation, or intimate-image abuse.

Keep participation fair

Do not spam, flood discussions with repetitive promotions, buy or fabricate engagement, operate accounts to evade restrictions, or manipulate Waves, follows, reports, or other signals. Do not use reporting as retaliation or knowingly submit false allegations. Business and community features must be used within the authority and permissions assigned to you.

Do not attack the app, bypass access controls, distribute malware, collect nonpublic information, or misuse another person's credentials. Report a suspected security issue privately. Do not test a weakness by accessing someone else's account or data.

Respect intellectual property

Only share material you have the right to use. Respect copyright, trademarks, and others' rights of publicity and privacy. Giving credit does not necessarily establish permission. If you believe your rights are infringed, use the copyright category on Support and identify the material and its location. Rights complaints must be accurate and made in good faith.

Reporting, enforcement, and appeals

Use the report control on the relevant content or account where available. You can also use Support without signing in or email waverlysocialapp@gmail.com. Include a link or content/account identifier and a concise explanation. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, or illegal imagery. Reporting a concern does not require you to confront the other person.

We review available information and may remove content, reduce or restrict access to features, issue a warning, suspend an account, or permanently end access. Severe or repeated violations may lead to immediate action without a warning. We may preserve limited evidence or make reports required by law. A paid membership does not provide protection from enforcement.

We consider context and mistakes, but we cannot guarantee that every violation will be detected or that all reports will produce the result a reporter requests. We may limit explanations that could expose private information, interfere with an investigation, or help someone evade safeguards.

If you think a decision was wrong, contact support and choose an appeal. Provide your username or account email, the decision or reference you received, and a brief explanation of what we should reconsider. Do not create another account to bypass a restriction while waiting. Available legal rights are not limited by our internal appeal process.
